Retirement communities have greatly evolved over time, with more and more communities providing luxury-like accommodations and a variety of day-to-day activities. Whether seniors are seeking out an assisted living community or an independent living complex, retirement communities offer a wide-variety of benefits.

If you’ve been discussing a retirement community with your parent or relative, view the information below to see why seniors are relocating.

Safety & Security

One of the major perks of a retirement community is the safety provided to residents. With around-the-clock staffing and a nurse available 24 hours a day at New Horizons at Marlborough, our residents have complete peace of mind. Retirement communities have security cameras and receptionists who follow protocols to ensure the safety of their residents.

Nutritious Meals

Some seniors who reside by themselves may struggle with eating the right foods or going out to purchase groceries. Retirement communities provide dining services, so residents never have to worry about food shopping. Meals are always switched up, allowing residents to choose from a variety of delicious cuisine. If a resident has dietary needs, most retirement communities are more than willing to accommodate.

No Home Maintenance

For seniors who struggle with physical activities, maintaining an entire home can be quite strenuous. At a retirement community, snow removal is taken care of as well as other landscaping tasks. This provides residents with more leisure time as well as time with friends and family.

Always Something to Do

There’s never a dull moment at the New Horizons retirement community, as activities are held every day, including watercise classes, cooking classes, and trivia. Shuttle buses take residents around town, and performers often make appearances at the community.

Healthier Lifestyle

Retirement communities are geared toward providing residents with a much healthier lifestyle, both physically and emotionally. With the wide-range of activities available, residents can meet one another and discuss common interests. Fitness centers are sometimes provided so seniors can work out at their convenience or take a dip in the pool.

Choose New Horizons at Marlborough for Independent or Assisted Living Accommodations

New Horizons at Marlborough provides residents with exceptional care and accommodations. Our fitness center includes a heated indoor pool, and we often hold watercise classes, which the residents thoroughly enjoy. A large fireplace with an open floor plan greets residents as they walk inside, allowing them to cozy up with a book or engage in a fireside chat.

  1. I found it interesting when you said that one of the major perks of a retirement community is the safety provided to residents. One of my neighbors told me that he feels lonely because no one from his family comes to visit him and he needs assistance to take his medicine. I will recommend him to look for an assisted living community so that he can have people that can take care of him.
