spring time

In a few short weeks, flowers will be blooming, birds will be chirping along our windowsills, and the sun will be shining. Springtime is a time for beginnings, and you can truly feel the energy as we look forward to much warmer weather. While it may be challenging for seniors to engage in intense activities, they can still participate in nature walks, fishing, and other leisurely outdoor activities. After all, there’s no greater feeling than soaking in Vitamin D to energize the body and mind.

Fishing: Marlborough and the surrounding areas offer plenty of fishing opportunities. This is one of the most calming outdoor activities a senior can take part in, and it can also be extremely rewarding.

Have a Picnic: Parks are spread throughout the town of Marlborough, and because this is a family-friendly community, there are plenty of areas to host a picnic. It’s important to find an area with seating that accommodates your loved one.

Nature Walk: Walking along a trail to explore the thriving wildlife and lush foliage and to feel the sun on your skin makes for a completely relaxing day. Seniors can choose how far they’d like to walk and go at their own pace. This is also an excellent opportunity to explore the retirement community if they are new to the area.

Farmers Markets: Towns surrounding Marlborough often hold farmers markets from spring to fall. Maynard, Hopkinton, and Natick provide locals with plenty of organic fruits and veggies along with homemade spreads and jams. Seniors can get to know neighboring towns and learn about healthy eating.
