When Should I Move to an Assisted Living Care Community?

It can be intimidating for seniors to entertain the idea of moving to an independent living community, but it can be a wonderful experience. Independent living communities are dedicated toward seniors who are still active in their lifestyles and in the community.

  1. Lawn Care

As we age, it can be challenging to take on heavy lawn maintenance or daily chores. Gardening, shoveling the driveway, and mowing the lawn are certainly a few activities that cause stress to seniors. At an independent living community, senior citizens don’t need to worry about these tasks, as these services are provided to them.

  1. Socialization

Once into retirement, there is so much time to get involved; however, seniors may feel confused about where to even look for opportunities. Independent living communities take away all the hassle of having to look for community activities and organizations. From cocktail hours to watercise classes, the day is packed with enjoyable events.

  1. No Bills

Independent living communities often have utilities and other extras included in the rent such as heat, electric, phone, and internet. It makes life much less hectic when there are fewer bills to deal with.

  1. Nutritious Diet

Independent living communities often offer options for daily meals in a communal dining room. Choose a community that provides healthy and tasty options.

  1. Privacy

One benefit to living in an independent living community is that residents can have privacy whenever they desire. Meals are optional as well as joining in on daily activities.

  1. My uncle’s dad wants to live independently. I like how you mention that in independent living communities you pay fewer bills because some include extras in the rent such as electricity and phone. Thank you for the information. I’ll recommend my uncle to take his dad to an assisted living if he doesn’t want much assistance.
